Biodegradable Mulch Film

Biodegradable Mulch Film
SIPA Management - Biocartene

Introducing BIOCARTENE®, patented 100% biodegradable and compostable soil mulching film that adheres to the highest EU standards for natural composting and biodegradation in soil. TUV Austria has certified BIOCARTENE® P with both the OK Biodegradable Soil and OK Compost Industrial marks.

BIOCARTENE®  is an exceptional biodegredable mulching film that can be plowed into the soil after mechanical harvesting, fertilising and preparing it for the next sowing. Made from premium 100% organic PLA, this mulch is 15 microns thick and is blackened with natural dyes, creating an opaque, UV-protective surface that promotes light refraction.

The decomposition process for BIOCARTENE® begins after the third month of being in the soil and concludes between 6 to 8 months, depending on soil microorganisms and climate. As it degrades, the mulch releases natural fertilisers into the soil, benefiting future crops. BIOCARTENE® is an excellent, eco-friendly option for farmers and gardeners alike.

BENEFITS OF USING COMPOSTABLE MULCH FILM

BIOCARTENE®, our compostable and biodegradable mulch foil, offers numerous benefits for farmers. By using this product, farmers can increase their yield, conserve irrigation water, and significantly reduce rot. The dark color of the mulch foil controls weeds by blocking their photosynthesis, while also regulating light and temperature. BIOCARTENE®  retains heat in the soil naturally, creating favourable microclimatic conditions in the root zone of each plantation.

Using BIOCARTENE® guarantees an earlier and higher-quality harvest, while also saving on labor and collection costs compared to conventional plastic mulch. This product can be applied both before and after planting crops. To fasten it in place, simply cover the edges with soil or use U-shaped metal brackets and/or a net to prevent displacement and ensure resistance to changes in climatic conditions.
